The six vertical bands of the flag represent the six colors of the aura which Buddhists believe emanated from the body of the Buddha when he attained Enlightenment: Yellos (Pita): The Middle Path, White (Odata): The purity of Dharma, Orange (Manjesta): The Buddha's teachings and the sixth vertical band, on the fly, is made up of a combination of rectangular bands of the five other colours, and represents a compound of the other five colours in the aura's spectrum. This compound colour is referred to as Pabbhassara ('essence of light').

8ft x 5ft Sewn Cotton United Kingdom (Union Jack) Flag

Made from 100% cotton bunting each Union Jack has a strong canvas header, two brass eyelets and double stitched seams. The fly end has four rows of stitching for added strength and durability.

While we label these cotton flags as indoor quality they will be quite happy flying outdoors in fine weather. The weight of the flag does require a substantial pole in a strong foundation. If the flag gets wet care should be taken to dry thoroughly to avoid mildew in storage.

The texture of the cotton bunting makes these flags very popular with restaurants, interior designers, and historical re-enactment groups.

8ft x 5ft Sewn Cotton United States of America (Stars and Stripes) Flag

Made from 100% cotton bunting each US flag has sewn stripes, an embriodered star field, a strong canvas header, two brass eyelets and double stitched seams. The fly end has four rows of stitching for added strength and durability.

While we label these cotton flags as indoor quality they will be quite happy flying outdoors in fine weather. The weight of the flag does require a substantial pole in a strong foundation. If the flag gets wet care should be taken to dry thoroughly to avoid mildew in storage.

The current US flag is 13 equal horizontal stripes of red (top and bottom) alternating with white; there is a blue rectangle in the upper hoist-side corner bearing 50 small, white, five-pointed stars arranged in nine offset horizontal rows of six stars (top and bottom) alternating with rows of five stars; the 50 stars represent the 50 states, the 13 stripes represent the 13 original colonies.
